The Construction of the Small Box Girder of Zaohe Expressway Was Successfully Completed

Publish Time: 2025-08-21

With two 200-ton cranes seamlessly completing operations such as hooking, trial hoisting, lifting, operation, and left-right shifting, the erection of the small box girders on the Zaohe Expressway, invested and constructed by China Gezhouba Group, has been successfully completed, marking the start of the project's second-half construction peak.

The small box girders being erected are located in a water source protection area in Jining City. To ensure ecological health and protect water resources, the area features a 407-meter-long bridge with 16 spans. The bridge deck consists of eight 25-meter prestressed concrete small box girders, each weighing 84 tons. According to Zhang Shouming, Deputy General Manager of the Zaohe Expressway General Contracting Project Department of China Gezhouba Group, the prefabrication-first, then-erection method significantly accelerates project progress and reduces construction time compared to traditional cast-in-place box girder construction.

The Zaohe (Cross-Weishan Lake) Expressway Project, part of the Rizhao (Lanshan) to Heze Highway, traverses southern and southwestern Shandong, forming a crucial "ring" in the province's "Nine Vertical, Five Horizontal, Ring, and Seven Connecting" expressway network. It is a key project of Shandong Province during the 13th Five-Year Plan period. Upon completion, the project will improve the road transportation network in Shandong Province and promote the economic and social development of Shandong.
