The concrete main girder of the Yachi River Bridge, a key project on the Chengdu-Guiyang Railway, has been successfully connected, marking the completion of all 476 bridges along the Chengdu-Guiyang Railway, effectively completing the entire line.

Located in Qianxi County, Guizhou Province, the Yachi River Bridge spans the Wujiang River. With a length of 971 meters and a main span of 436 meters, it is the world's longest-span, mid-through steel-concrete composite basket arch bridge. Due to its large span and complex load-bearing conditions, it presents significant safety risks. Construction began in January 2014. During construction, many steps were devoid of experience or existing processes. Consequently, the builders undertook numerous technological breakthroughs, including the development and design of a similar large-scale transverse cable crane.

Track laying has been completed on the Sichuan section of the Chengdu-Guiyang Railway. The line is scheduled to be ready for operation in 2019. Upon its opening, the travel time and distance from Sichuan to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area via Guiyang will be significantly shortened, and the history of no high-speed trains operating southbound from Sichuan will also come to an end.
